15 years ago a diverse and dynamic movement was born. That movement was Shelter and the child it has grown into has shaped the future of dance music along its journey.

Shelter has become well known and respected internationally for its acceptance of culture and lifestyle, to its founding parents, music is the spiritual source.

One of those founding parents, and Shelter’s resident DJ is the legendary Timmy Regisford. . This man is known as the Maestro, for every time he steps uo to the turntables, a new journey begins. From Vice President of Motown to director of A& R at MCA Records and Atlantic Records, it could be argued that this man has single handedly kept the spirit of soul music alive…

His career is multi-faceted, combining DJ, Producer, Remixer and A&R. Adding his unique touch as remixer to the works of Diana Ross, Gerald Alston, Stevie Wonder, Patti Labelle, New Addition, Bobby Womack, Gladys Knight and The Pips and Mary J Blige to name a few, he has shaped the face of modern music. In A&R, his aptitude for finding and developing new talent has brought the likes of Blaze, Johnny Gill, Basic Black, Eric B & Rakim, Guy, Miki Howard, Ten City and Curtis Hairston to the forefront of the music scene. He has solidified label agreements with NY’s Apollo Theatre and Motown’s first UK label Funki Dred Records, headed by Soul II Soul’s Jazzie B.

Timmy has never forgotten where and why he started, and that was as a DJ. His work as a DJ has attracted the likes of Stevie Wonder and Prince to drop in for a listen and Danny Tenaglia to regard him as inspirational.

Along with DJ’s like Larry Levan, Timmy was the link between disco and a new era of house music, a tradition that he carries with him today.

Natasha started to sing at a very early age, performing arts from a young age was her passion, she trained in Ballet Tap Jazz dance and street as singing was not her dream until around the tender age of 14 and she discovered she had a voice, a powerful voice for someone so young.

All her life Natasha was surrounded by music, all kinds of music Reggae Jazz Blues Funk Soul you name it, her father was a DJ and an she had an older sister that raved so hard it was hard for Natasha not to know the words to every 80′s soul and raregroove track above her years.

At the age of sixteen Natasha teamed up with Roame Lowrey percussionist with Maze and Frankie Beverly. He took Natasha to the states to experience recording and develop her as a young artist. Whilst in the states Natasha worked in on a stage musical and performed with Kirk Franklin and the Family, in these fruitful times Natasha’s talent grew and the inspiration from her current peers coaxed her in new directions and Natasha realised she had a new found love for Gospel and true RnB. Natasha’s stay in the states ended with the arrival of her son Taylor, this arrival took Natasha out of music for some years. But this is not the end of her musical journey.

So we fast forward to the year 2006 Natasha joins Funkshone as the lead singer for the funk band, they have just one album together before they part company and Natasha goes it alone.

Natasha credits her mother as her inspiration, in 2008 she loses the one woman who is her everything, and out of that awful time in her life comes “Time to shine”, still her favorite track to this day because of the deeply personal meaning behind the track!

The last few years has seen Natasha once again in demand for her vocal talents from many well respected producers, and has collaborated with other various contemporary song writers and bands from Papa Records Reel People, Bugz in the Attic’s Kaidi Tathum, Speedometer on Freestyle records various tracks on Purple, Nervous, Barcoda and more recently as the main vocalist on a forth coming Yam Who? E.P. on the cutting edge label ISM records.

Neil Pierce is a name that has become and will continue to be synonymous with the Soulful House scene in London. He’s carved out a name which has come to represent quality underground dance music with nothing but Soul.

It was during his time as manager at record shop ‘Release The Groove’ that he was asked to warm-up for Paul Trouble Anderson at the legendary Loft parties at HQ in Camden. Not long after, Neil was asked to be a Soul Heaven resident wherem he continued to refine his style and develop technical skills that became his trademark sound.

It was also whilst managing the record shop that Neil met Dj Aaron Ross, and in 2003, together they formed the successful production duo the Fanatix. Since then, the pair have consistently pushed out quality Soulful House music in both the booth and in the studio. Just some of the amazing artists the Fanatix have worked with over the years form a mixture of talent from across the globe such as Blaze, Kimara Lovelace, KOT, Kenny Bobien, Roy Ayers and Stephanie Cooke, as well as homegrown talent such as Terri Walker, Kele le Roc, Jamiroquai, Alex mills, Don-E and Sunburst Band and have seen releases across major House labels including; Sony, Defected, BBE, Ricanstruction, ZR, Def Jam, Soulgroove and of course Soul Heaven Records.

And as if that wasn’t enough, in 2005 Neil decided to form his label Hustle Music which has seen releases featuring artists such as Franck Roger, Jihad Muhammed, Muthafunkas and Reel Soul to name a few.

Neil has been a regular on the underground club scene both at home and around the globe, playing for long-standing and respected promotions such as Garage City, The Southport Weekender, Need2Soul, Miami Music Conference, Soulogic, To the Manor Born, Angel Deelite and Soul City. Neil is also one of a handful of Brits to have graced the decks at the legendary Shelter in New York. In the last few years, he has had the pleasure of taking his sound global, seeing him play in countries such as Italy, Ibiza, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Sweden, Dubai, Australia, Russia, Norway and the USA.

In March 2008 The Fanatix released their Album, ‘There it Is’ on London based label BBE to great critical acclaim and the number one spot on Traxsource. Singles from the album include Fanatix feat Kele Le Roc – Lesson Learned for Osiris and more recently the massive ‘Love Connection’ with Alex Mills, working alongside quality musicians such as Kaidi Tatham (Bugz in the Attic), Mike Patto (Reel People) and Marc De Clive Lowe amongst others. The album launch took place at the now infamous Fanatix residency, firstly at the Neighbourhood Club, then for BBE’s There It Is at Herbal in London’s Shoreditch.

The Fanatix success story has gone from strength to strength in 2009, with productions such as ‘Fly’ with Alison Crockett & Nathan Haines (straight to no. 1 in the Traxsource chart), and a remix of Byron Stingly’s ‘Keep The Love Going’ for Nervous Records. The boys have also just remixed a track for Nathan Haines’s new album. On the solo side, Neil is busy in the studio with remixes for NY Soul, and is working on a solo effort due later in the year.

Neil’s profile is set to rise ever higher in 2012, with a string of solo releases as well as brand new fanatix material so watch this space.
